Winter Storm Fern.

Winter Storm Fern continues to tighten its grip across much of the country, with East Coast communities experiencing the brunt of its impact. From plunging temperatures to powerful winds and winter weather conditions, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts alike are feeling the full force of this widespread winter storm.

Making the best of it. A little icy road canoeing.

For many anglers up and down the East Coast, fishing conditions have been challenging for months. Persistently low water levels throughout the fall and into early winter already made fishing difficult, and now any remaining open water is locked up under ice. A glance at the 10-day forecast doesn’t offer much hope that we’ll be back on the water anytime soon.

For now, my outdoor adventures consist of shoveling snow, walking the neighbor’s polar bear with Sally, and squeezing in some street sledding whenever possible.

Stay warm my fishy friends.
