Conventional & Fly Fishing Gear
The lodge provides a complete set of conventional tackle (rods, reels, line, lures, teasers, and bait) as well as fly fishing gear, including flies designed specifically for billfish. Personal gear is optional if you prefer to bring your own.

First Fly Included
Each package includes all tackle plus one fly for your trip. Additional flies or replacement equipment may incur a nominal fee if lost or broken.

Groups typically have their own private boat, ensuring a personalized fishing experience without mixing with other guests.

Larger vessels, such as the 44‑ft Tranquility and similar models, generally accommodate up to six anglers per boat. Exact capacity depends on the size and layout of each vessel in the Sailfish Oasis fleet, but six anglers per boat is standard for most charters and included in package pricing.

Sailfish Oasis Lodge features a diverse fleet of sportfishing boats, from 31‑ft express hulls to 50‑ft Ocean‑class vessels. Each boat is designed for offshore billfishing, providing anglers with top-quality platforms to target sailfish and other big-game species in Guatemala’s premier fishing grounds.

How to Get to Sailfish Oasis

1. Fly into Guatemala City
Most international travelers arrive at La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City. Direct flights are available from major U.S. hubs including Miami, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta, with flight times ranging from roughly 2 to 4+ hours depending on your departure city.

2. Private Transfer to the Lodge
Upon arrival, a lodge representative or driver will greet you for a private transfer to Sailfish Oasis in Iztapa. The journey takes about 90 minutes along a modern highway and is included in most lodge packages.

3. Scenic Drive to the Coast
The drive descends from the Guatemalan highlands toward the Pacific coast, offering views of volcanic landscapes, rural villages, and lush scenery along the way. Transfers are typically in air‑conditioned vehicles, with cold drinks provided for a comfortable ride.
