  • How to Get to Sailfish Oasis

    1. Fly into Guatemala City
    Most international travelers arrive at La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City. Direct flights are available from major U.S. hubs including Miami, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta, with flight times ranging from roughly 2 to 4+ hours depending on your departure city.

    2. Private Transfer to the Lodge
    Upon arrival, a lodge representative or driver will greet you for a private transfer to Sailfish Oasis in Iztapa. The journey takes about 90 minutes along a modern highway and is included in most lodge packages.

    3. Scenic Drive to the Coast
    The drive descends from the Guatemalan highlands toward the Pacific coast, offering views of volcanic landscapes, rural villages, and lush scenery along the way. Transfers are typically in air‑conditioned vehicles, with cold drinks provided for a comfortable ride.

A Typical Fishing Day
6:00 a.m. – Wake-up call with fresh Guatemalan coffee.
6:15 a.m. – Breakfast is served at the lodge.
6:45 a.m. – The lodge driver takes you to Marina Pez Vela, Guatemala’s only breakwater-protected marina (about 10 minutes).
7:00 a.m. – Depart for a full day of offshore fishing. Boats come fully equipped with top-quality tackle for conventional and fly fishing, targeting sailfish, billfish, mahi mahi, and tuna. Lunch, snacks, and beverages (including beer and soft drinks) are provided onboard.
4:30–5:00 p.m. – Return to the marina and ride back to the lodge. Freshen up, then enjoy appetizers before dinner.
