The Secure River is one of the main rivers within TIPNIS National Park and serves as the most important tributary of the Isiboro River, the Madeira River, and the Amazon. Originating at the confluence of the Nutusama and Cascarrillas streams, the river flows 300 miles before joining the Isiboro. Secure Lodge, Tsimane’s furthest upstream lodge, is situated on the headwaters of the Secure River and provides access to some of the region’s best freshwater fishing. The river is renowned for excellent pacu fishing near the lodge and trophy dorado downstream. At Secure Lodge, anglers spend three days fishing the river’s medium sector and three days exploring the high sector, with opportunities to fish two small tributaries—the Maniquisito and Ashahana—offering a complete and immersive Tsimane fishing experience.
